Abstract

Emmanuel Levinas, in an interview with Françoise Armengaud in 1988, published in 1990 under the title De l’oblitération, notes that the obliterate art works of Sacha Sosno can recognize and make something central to man recognized. This article aims to investigate the meaning of this levinasian suggestion, also in relation to the theses of the well-known article La réalité et son ombre of 1948, in which the philosopher builds a strong criticism of art, defining it as a shadow of reality. The attempt is to understand what is recognized by the sosnonian works and how this is made to recognize, to deepen, in parallel, which link occurs between art and recognition in the thought of Levinas.
